Half-Arsed Outfit Post!

Hi everyone! I know I  said I'd update sooner, but Shaun keeps bringing home sick and I keep getting colds. The bastard.

Anyway, I have a backlog of outfit photos and selfies, so I thought I'd do a grand olde picdump. I'll also be just generally mentioning what i've been up to.

This first one is me at the Melbourne Museum, with my favourite prehistoric creature, the inostrancevia. Inostancevia is a Gorganopsid, a synapsid from the Permian era. Overall, the museum was okay. A nice day out, but there wasn't really much there. Although there was a huge collection of bad taxidermy. I will still go again, though.

This next one is a little further back than that. I went out with Shaun and decided to behive the shit out of my hair. Not much else needs sayin'. :P

This picture seemed a popular one. I dunno why. From the same day as the Museum.

I really like this picture. The dress was a present from Amy dearest, and I love it. It's so Queen Mother-ish.

This outfit was from a few days ago. The blouse is another Amy grab - my favourite blouse. The skirt, which is actually dark blue with white flowers (sunflowers, I think) and lace, was $20 from a thrift shop. All my suspenders - which I wear all the fucking time they're just so great - are from Visage and Vice here in Melbourne.

Last of all, today's stuff. I went out to see my brother, who is in town. I also bought a coat. A great thing, since I haven't owned a black coat in years! It's a lovely thing, too. Also feat. Ridcully being cute.

That's about all from Bedlam here. I'll check in early in the week.

It's my birthday on Thursday!

I AM AMAZING - an outfit post

You cannot understand how goddamn proud I am right now.
So as per usual of myself on a wednesday, I went to Heathers. BUT THAT IS NOT ALL. OH NO. I did something EXTRA special today. I didn't GO anywhere unusual. I didn't SEE anyone out of the ordinary. I DID THIS INSTEAD.

HOW GREAT AM I.

SERIOUSLY. HOW AWESOME.
I AM PRIDECAT. HEAR ME NYAN.

First thing heather said to me was either "you look amazing" or "you look awesome". NOT QUITE SURE WHICH. EITHER WAY.
Let's break it down.

OUTFIT

Shirt - my sister's, $5 from a secondhand place (will not wear again without some kind of brooch or something. SO LOW CUT ON MY LIL BEWBS)
Gloves - Fanplusfriend
Tutu - Corsets-au
Bloomers - F+F
Stockings - In Visible Light
Demonia Bewts - Goth Angel
Bustle - Lovechild Boudoir
Lilhat - Corsets-au
Heather fell over while photoing.
I laughed at her on your behalf.
Makeup:

Same as usual, missha bb cream, powder over. Manic panic duo liner, used the shadow today, and blood red lipstick as is my usual. Shiro "Potion" blush as well. Nothing PARTICULARLY unusual going on here, but it's all amazing stuff so. There we are. NOW ENJOY SOME MORE PHOTOS OF ME BEING REALLY DAMN PLEASED.

We were pretty much just messing around here, but I like the photos so YOU CAN ALL JUST SIT THROUGH AND LOOK AT ME D:<

I wasn't really "going" for much here, but it's kinda...Emilie Autumn meets Vermillion Lies and they have a threesome with Iva Insane? XD I stated that to Dalestair this morning. She seemed to like that idea. :P

After this, we then watched some Hatventures: Skylands episodes and got some more Minecraft on because we're geeky little shits like that.

But anyway, I loved this outfit, I loved being in it, etc etc etc. A LOT of people seemed to love this outfit, and an older lady decided she wanted to know everything about me (but then all of a sudden got very worried that she had offended me). It was also popular with the little kids.

I love my hair like this. :D

Much love!

Boogy-Woogy Kitty Cat from Company C(at)

First order of business, I had someone send me an abusive email about how I'm ugly and an emo and "no one like me". I mean apparently. People hate me so much that I have a (fairly popular, by my admittedly low standards) blag that people read and comment on. Yes, I am so hated and alone. I so whimsically responded, "you're just jealous because I'm fat."

However, the far more exciting order of business today is my eldest sister's birthday. I didn't take any photos because apparently our fucking cuntbag of a camera is broken. I will post some pictures as soon as other people post them on the bookface. Sally turned 29 today. Happy Birthday, Sal!

Anyway, this is what I looked like. I could't get a damned photo of my outfit because of the camera, and apparently my webcam doesn't have a delay button (what). I will however fill you in on what I did wear.
Channeling the Andrews Sisters again!

Sorry about the messed colours. I did my best.

Clothing:

My sister's black crow jacket
Skirt - Gallery Serpentine
Shirt - GS
Stockings - In Visible Light
I am so proud of this liner.
Doc Martens - Second-hand
Hat - FanplusFriend
Pearls - ILovePearls
Knee-high red stockings - FanplusFriend

I had to try several times for a face bad enough to express
how i felt about this.
Makeup:

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream #13
Chinchilla powder
Shiro blush in "Potion"
Manic Panic Creature of the Night duo liner
Manic Panic "Blood Red" lipstick
Shiro eyeshadow in "EVERYTHING IS BEARS"

And now I am off. Much love, my gothlings.

(ps: if I have to say "shut up" one more time to my nephew, there will be trouble.

pps: too late.)

What. Where. What. - a repost.

So I was trawling through Sary's blag, as I do when I am a boredcat, and I found this post.

My first thought was, bloody what, why are there no comments? Why has this not been done? WHAT.

And as suggested, I am reposting this.
This game will consist of "What. Where. What." You guys comment telling me what article of clothing you want me to wear, preferably from trolling through my outfit posts. Where I should be situated, for example a graveyard. The second what refers to what sort of style you want the outfit to be based around, for example a subset of goth like Victorian or even just a word like Candy.
And there we have it. What. Where. What. is going to spawn a new page on my blag, where you can go and tell me the clothing, the place and the style, and I will post it up for you. Let the What. Where. What. begin!

Outfit Cat is Outfit

Running out of names...

Anyway, Shaun and I went to see Heather on Friday, before he left on Saturday. Here's what I wore. Shaun and I look awful because we are both ill.
 Wearing:

-My sister's new shoes
-Tutu - Hell Bunny
-Bloomers - Gallery Serpentine (get a pair!)
-Chemise - Gallery Serpentine
-Bolero - Mei Mei (apparently)
-Socks - some lady gave a huge bag of toe socks to my sister.
-Pokemon Brooch - animania, Shaun gave it to me.
 Makeup:
Primer - Missha BB Boomer
Foundation - Missha BB Cream Perfect Cover #13
Powder - Chinchilla's home-made
Liner - Manic Panic "Creature of the Night" Duo
Shadow -  Shiro "Everything is Bears!"
Blush - Shiro "Potion"
Lipstick - Manic Panic "Blood Red".
Murderous heels, and my bloomers...

As far as the actual day, we didn't do much since we were both ill. We went to our new favourite cafe (Poppies, in the arcade next to the Standish medical centre). We went there nearly every day last week. I got the scone-jam-and-cream coffee special, and shaun got a bacon and egg toasted sandwich, which he says is the best he's ever bought.

We went to Heather's and watched some TV with her, as we do, and had some lunch since we went shopping before we went there.

We bought wafers.

Other than that, pretty usual Visting Heather trip. We spent a lot of it reading the I Am Maru blog, because....kitty. :D

On Saturday, I put on my Victorian attire and went to an open house for a Victorian house that is up for auction. It was beautiful. although needing a lot of work. I am dragging my dad along to the next one so that I can take photos for you.
<3
Shaun will be back in a month and we will be packing up and leaving. Looking forward to it.

Am going to start doing To Do lists; next post will be that.

Much love!

Filthy Victorians 2012 - Sunday Best and Churchgoing

So here we have it, my first day wearing a bustle and corset. It wasn't unpleasant. In fact, i quite enjoyed it, and thanks to the joys of linen clothing, I did not so much as sweat in the gorgeous spring sun.

I'm also using this for the facebook competition because, to be honest, i finally felt interesting!

cats attacked my skirt and made it uneven.
Luckily, they are cute and it's easy to
fix.
Damn yellow light.
 So, here's what I'm wearing.

-Hat from Corsets-au (they are the BEST for tiny hats)
-Lovechild Boudoir skirt, strung up.
-Home-made muslin shirt
-My sister's black crow jacket
-60" strand of pearls from I-Love-Pearls
-Funtasma granny boots
-Gallery Serpentine custom corset.
I literally did the best I could
photographing this.
Apparently, I live in a house
without pens.
What I did today was head into Huskisson (the next town over) while my sister got her tattoo touched up. I sat in our favourite cafe and read for three hours, and then I went outside and sat at the wharf to read. Quite a lovely day!

The Victorian era idea of Sunday was rather like the idea of Sunday in previous centuries - church. Hence came the idea of your "sunday best" - the best clothes you had, you wore to church. Women who were not in mourning wore creams and pastel colours as well as headcoverings, and men wore their best day suits. The idea was that you were supposed to be showing reverence by looking your best at church, but really, I think it was just another way for bored housewives to show off to each other. Sunday Best was - and often is - a contest.

If you attend church, or plan to for 2012 (in the interest of historical accuracy, as I am considering finding a good, suitably grand cathedral) then having your Sunday Best is essential - from your best bustle to your bonnet, I am sure you will look fabulous! However, if you are a Woman of Science (and not fanciful things such as religion), or perhaps you're just Granny Weatherwax, you should have suitable attire for sunday in any case.

Accidental buttpic! I liked it though. XD
A good church-going bonnet, for any practising religious folk amongst you, can be purchased from a good internet site, like Covered for Him or the Mennonite Maidens. Such businesses are usually only too happy to make custom things, so if you can give them an example of what you want, they can make them. Headscarves are also appropriate, and can be made easily. I often MacGuyver my shawl into a headscarf for when it's raining heavily or if I'm just not having a good hair day. It's easily done with bobby pins and clips.

Your best corsetry is to be worn on sundays - your smallest waist - but being conservative with your bustles on a sunday is a good idea. Make sure your clothing is not mostly stark-white, but off-white and pastel colours. A straw bonnet (which you can make from a straw hat) decorated with pink ribbons and pretend flowers is also appropriate for church-going.

Today's waistline. Any comments?
In summary, churchgoing in the 19th century was much as it is today: a pointless and rather ongoing affair that relies on pomp and circumstance.

...should I introduce the Catholic Church of Melbourne to Hurricane Kitty, do you think?

;3

Party on, Goths. :D

PS: Here's a picture of my hair after I took it out. And no, I'm not naked. That's what shaun thought and I figured I would just end that right there.

Sea air+bun. Also, why do I always look like I have
grease paint on?! Stupid room!

Outfit Post! - Bottom of the Pile (and birthday photos)

Every now and then, I like to take things from the bottom of my clothing pile...

...and wear them. I did that for today's evening Valiant Quest to Return Overdue DVDs to the Store.

So here's what I came up with!

If you enlarge the image, you can see on my
your-left hand, my burn scar from the
curling iron.
Here's the breakdown:

Shirt: it's the top of my petticoat
Skirt: KMart. Or target. either way it was in 2009 and in Ballina.
Odd legwarmers: Best and Less
Skivvy cardigan thing: Got it from my eldest sister Sally.
Olde Faithful Docs: present from my aunt. :3

You can also see my makeup on the counter. XD

Hairclips were a present from the owner of TragicBeautiful

Here are some photos from my birthday. My sister and I went to the Nowra Animal Park.

There have been worse photos.

It's chewing the camera.
