Half-Arsed Outfit Post!

Hi everyone! I know I  said I'd update sooner, but Shaun keeps bringing home sick and I keep getting colds. The bastard.

Anyway, I have a backlog of outfit photos and selfies, so I thought I'd do a grand olde picdump. I'll also be just generally mentioning what i've been up to.

This first one is me at the Melbourne Museum, with my favourite prehistoric creature, the inostrancevia. Inostancevia is a Gorganopsid, a synapsid from the Permian era. Overall, the museum was okay. A nice day out, but there wasn't really much there. Although there was a huge collection of bad taxidermy. I will still go again, though.

This next one is a little further back than that. I went out with Shaun and decided to behive the shit out of my hair. Not much else needs sayin'. :P

This picture seemed a popular one. I dunno why. From the same day as the Museum.

I really like this picture. The dress was a present from Amy dearest, and I love it. It's so Queen Mother-ish.

This outfit was from a few days ago. The blouse is another Amy grab - my favourite blouse. The skirt, which is actually dark blue with white flowers (sunflowers, I think) and lace, was $20 from a thrift shop. All my suspenders - which I wear all the fucking time they're just so great - are from Visage and Vice here in Melbourne.

Last of all, today's stuff. I went out to see my brother, who is in town. I also bought a coat. A great thing, since I haven't owned a black coat in years! It's a lovely thing, too. Also feat. Ridcully being cute.

That's about all from Bedlam here. I'll check in early in the week.

It's my birthday on Thursday!

A Forum! +some life stuff and cats!

If you're as much in love with Dani Deathbiscuit as I am (she routinely propositions me in broken Dutch), you would have heard about our forums. The oh-so-talented Laura, aka Sheridan, went ahead and made a forum instead of getting ready for school one day, in between teaching me how to ask people if they wanted to see my tits in Dutch. It's still being worked on, but I wanted to extend the invite!

As you can see, I still look fine. ;DFunny story. I don't actually
look like this in real life. I don't know what happened!
And as for what's going on in my life, I'm afraid my health has taken a turn for the worst. Constantly uncomfortable, knees killing me (I got out of bed and ended up at a pro-gay marriage rally in Melbourne today!), back killing me, horrible vomiting feelings. It's at least nice and chilly here at the moment. I've been trying to help my health with huge doses of Chip Coffey (from about 7:00 onwards is where the magic happens) and My Little Pony. Seems to have helped.

Shaun has finally found some secure employment, Heather is moving down, and the cats are happy and healthy and being the best of company. We will be moving oh so soon.

Apart from my heath QQ-ing everything, life is good!

Here are just a couple of pictures of my darling Bedlam Boys. Although a bit bored because we can't let them out of our room most days, they are quite happy playing with each other.

Came home smelling like dogs today, as I stopped to cuddle with so many! One labradour nearly killed his owner dragging him along to run up to me. They rounded a corner, the dog spotted me and ran STRAIGHT over. I don't know why, but he was a very cute 6-month-old!

Because it's been so cold, the cats have been mostly sleeping under the blankets with me all day. Shaun works five or six days a week, and they are fantastic company.

As soon as we find a place, they will get more room, and some little foster kittens to join us! Finally...something to do!

Sorry I have been so lacking lately. I've been so ill and boring - I haven't got much to say!

Much love, always!

PS: I hugged a fursuiter today. Jealous?

Househunting - Moar Makeup and General Life Update

The pics on this post are pretty dodgy, so let's just start with a lovely one of Sunday.

awwww. :3
Anyway, today we went to look at an apartment up the road. It's small but nice, I really like it. Hopefully we'll be able to get it. Here's what my face looked like. My webcam dislikes unnatural light, so it just sort of went "no". Shaun had to hold the lamp up to me. :P

Foundation - Illamasqua Skin Base SB002 and Illamasqua Pressed Powder in PF002

Eyes and brows - Manic Panic Cream and Shadow duo. Yeah, for once I actually did that black eyeshadow thing you young whipper-snappers are always on about.

Cheeks - Nabi blush in "Lilac".

Lips - Manic Panic "Blood Red".

I also actually did something with my hair, as I was too shakey and running late to tie my headscarf. I just sort of put it in a bun and wave-efied some of the side bits. :D

Observant readers would notice that there's something new on the bell on my neck - it's a gold ring with cat ears, sent to me by the darling Dani Deathbiscuit of Confessions of an Australian Goth. She saw it and just KNEW I had to have it.

As for my back pain, things seem okay. The pain pills seem to be working although they have done nothing for this migrain! The weather seems to, though, as it has gone from "a bit sunny, occasionally" to dreary and wonderful. I've been able to walk around for longer, and with less pain. Shaun says I'm less moody too, but what does he know?!

Using my phone as a lamp, yay! XD
We're getting along fine, though. Things are better this week, although we still have nowhere to move. XD

I wish I could post something more interesting! Blar.

I was thinking about putting a "donate" button up on the sidebar and setting that up. I might still do, if we need it. All blog money will of course go towards cats, our own and street cats, and if we manage to get our own place, it will also go towards foster kittens.

Anyway, my darlings, that was our day. How are you all? Do check in with me every once in a while, you are all always on my mind.

Much love.

-Kitty

PS: That jacket? Y'see that jacket? That's the jacket Jillian Venters AND Amy both wanted. It's mine, bitches, do you hear? MINE.

Very Fairy Valentine - FilfyVics2012 are go!

I know that you're all doing that vampire valentine thing, BUT NUTS TO THAT I WENT TO THE ZOO

Yes, I love the zoo. You can probably tell. In fact, I am planning to start going to the zoo once a week, from open til close, to sit in my favourite environment in the hopes of getting back into writing.

That news aside, and before I start posting pictures, I am just going to say it - FV2012 is pretty much officially ON. It only occured to me this morning, but more or less every time I go out, I am in my victoriana regalia. Whether it be my Voltaire outfit (pics coming eventually, but it was my bustle skirt) or my zoo outfit, or even my undressed bloomers and shirt outfit (close enough to Victorian combinations for me to call "totes"). And so here and now, on this day, 15th of February, 2012, I declare the challenge OPEN.

...except it's too hot today for me to wear anything big so today is my day off though shush.

On with some pictures. Click to expand if you want to see some cute fuzzy faces.

We arrived, did a tour of the reptile house, and heard a god-awful racket. The painted dogs were just about to be fed. I took a video but, i will leave that til the 24th when our internet resets (along with a few other videos i have, including the accent challenge vid)

These are adorable painted dogs, also known as Cape Hunting Dogs.
They are a semi-domesticated canine from africa. They are eating..
I'm not sure. It had hair on it. I think it was a cow or horse bit.

They're fucking adorable, too. Did I mention that?
We then made straight for the felinae - the small wildcats.

A serval!
Servals are a desert cat, not endangered but some of my
favourite of the small cats. They look like Delilah.
Thanks fairy for letting me borrow your parasol!
Mine is a bit sad nowadays

The straw bonnet is the straw hat I wore to the Victorian Goth
picnic, with a LOT more false flowers and a ribbon attatched.

A caracal. Once considered to be a lynx, and also known as
the Egyptian lynx, it is no longer classified as such.
One of my favourite Zoo Tycoon animals!

Then we made our way over the pantherinae - the big cats. Except the lions. The lions are near the painted dogs and we didnt' get any good pics. not that fond of lions anyway but, just for trivia, in 1984, a guy snuck into the lion den at Melbourne Zoo at night to test his martial arts skills. He was killed and eaten. Guess he wasn't as good as the thought.

The snow leopard!
My favourite big cat other than the Sumatran tiger.
Snow leopards are very endangered.
They are the smallest of the big cats, and their taxanomical
definition is very much debated.
They have long, thick tails and fluffy feets, and aren't true
leopards.
Doesn't matter had cat

We then made our way to the Asian rainforest. We saw elephants but neglected to photograph them as we were too enthralled. We were on our way to the butterfly house and spider house. n.n

The oriental small-clawed otter!
Also known as the Asian small clawed otter, these animals are
vulnerable. They are very active, fast, inquisitive and playful,
and are a joy to watch intereact. Impossible to photograph, we
only managed when they laid down to cuddle.
Insert butterfly montage. I don't know the species and I am not looking them up.

It was then, more or less, time for us to shove off. We didn't get to see everything again, but as I mentioned I will be doing weekly visits to the zoo for the rest of the year. However, on our way, we stopped to see one of my very, very favourite animals.

 According to wikipedia:

the meerkat is also known as the sun angel, as it protects villages from the moon devil or the werewolf which is believed to attack stray cattle or lone tribesmen.
So that's interesting! This is a family of meerkats. Usually they are seperated, but I believe they were put together because one of the enclosures was being renovated. They are ALSO difficult to photograph but, remain to be one of my very favourite animals to interact with. They are closely related to the mongoose and are just as hardcore. Seriously, a whole family of Riki Tiki Tavis.

I hope you guys enjoyed it! I loved being there.

Do you want to see photographs of anything at the Melbourne Zoo? Comment or message me and I'll get you some!

much love! <3

The Morning After Voltaire

And by "morning", I mean "afternoon". We didn't wake up til a bit late!
"LOOOL"

First and foremost: You know how you get this impression about people, but they usually just disappoint your expectations of what they are like in person? Voltaire is the opposite. You get this impression of him, which is awesome, but when you meet him, you realise he is FAR, FAR COOLER than you could ever expect.

Most of the photos of him on stage were taken by Shaun, since it was literally about fifty degrees in that room and I was on a swivel chair. But do you know what? that somehow made it better. It was a really intimate show.

In short, all I can really say about him is, he is even better live than I could ever imagine. His level of interaction with his audience exceeds expectations. Oh, and we nearly made him drown in Bacardi due to the "Ex Lover's Lover Drinking Game" (which is, "When I say "die", you take a big drink. Every time.")

He started with "Death Death (Devil Devil Devil Devil Evil Evil Evil Evil Songs)" and finished with a very heartfelt, I think, rendition of "Science Fiction Double Feature". He told some VERY funny stories about whenever he went to the airport, which concluded in him giving a woman a copy of Ooky Spooky for her kids and saying, "I think they'll enjoy Zombie Prostitute". (This is also the album with "Cantina" on it. Yeah.)

Afterwards, he hang around a very long while. As in, he went off at 11:30, and came out about ten minutes later. We didn't leave until 1:30-ish, because we were talking to him and some other people. He is an amazing guy, and I hope he comes back soon, because Melbourne loves him.

But maybe in a less closed in location next time, with some air conditioning. :P

Cannot recall what I was laughing about, but this was
not the most flattering photo of Voltaire. Poor guy was
reeeeally overheated from being on stage.
